I am the branch

Updated: Oct 31, 2018

Hi family, I am so excited to see what God will do and where God will take us on this life journey as we do life together. Let me share how the name "the branch" came up.

Why the branch

Let me first introduce who we are, my name is Prayudi and my wife's Susanna. We both are honored to be given the opportunity to pastor this wonderful branch family. Our family tree includes three beautiful girls: Olivia, Sonia and Gloria.

Term "the branch" was picked out of the Bible from the gospel of John 15 when Jesus said:

" I am the Vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing."

Jesus used this figure of speech and called us to be the branches. There are some significants on this word.

Part of something:

A branch simply can't stand by itself. A branch must attach to a vine in order to live and

that Vine is Christ Himself. The Branch will serve as a reminder that without Christ, we can do nothing. [CONNECT]

Every part is important:

A branch is the extension of the main vine. A branch, big or small, carries the same function that is to be the path for the nutrition from the root to the leaves that will produce fruits. That's why every part is important and unique.

[COLLAB : CO-LABOR]

Naturally fruitful:

A branch that is healthy is a branch that creates life [leaves + fruits]. From the book of beginning, God calls men to be fruitful and to multiply just as a tree is to be fruitful and to multiply. This serves as our life goal that is to share God's love to everyone.

[CREATE]

A branch for us is a new season, a new grace, a new life and that is true in our walk with God. Without God, we cannot.. without us God will not.
